Local Students Participate in Cancer Center Marathon
Students from Altus Christian Academy in Altus will participate in the Super Kids Marathon event, a special event of the Spirit of Survival Marathon that takes place in Medicine Park October 13 and 14. The event benefits the three Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma in Altus, Lawton and Duncan.
The Super Kids Marathon is for students through 12 years of age to log walking miles prior to the event and walking 1.2 miles the day of the marathon for a total of 25 miles. Altus Christian Academy students have been walking at the school and logging their miles. Ninety-two percent of the enrolled students and their parents will participate in the Super Kids Marathon on October 14.
The Super Kids Marathon is one event that will take place the weekend of October 13 and 14. The Mount Scott 5K run is Saturday October 13 as well as the Spirit of Survival Luminary Service at 7 p.m. The Mountain Marathon, Marathon Relay, Holy Half Marathon, Big Rock 10K and the Super Kids Marathon will be held on Sunday, October 14.
