Bank Fulfills Pledge to Support Cancer Center
(ALTUS) Staff from the Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma and Jackson County Memorial Hospital hosted a reception for NBC Bank of Altus employees for the fulfillment of their pledge of $25,000 to the JCMH campus of the Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma.
Jeff Greenlee, NBC President, announced the goal fulfillment at the reception. NBC made the pledge in 2008 to reach the amount within five years. The total amount raised was $26,697.
NBC employees raised money through bake sales, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day and other special bank activities.
William G. Wilson, President and Chief Executive Officer at Jackson County Memorial Hospital and Chairman of the Board of the Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma, explained how the operation of the cancer centers has positively impacted the residents of Southwest Oklahoma and North Texas.
He illustrated how well the partnership between the three communities in Duncan, Lawton and Altus has had on the outcome of opening the three centers. He talked about the physician staff–the medical and radiation oncologists–being top-of-the-line specialists; and announced that an additional medical oncologist will join the cancer centers in August.
Wilson emphasized how persons diagnosed with cancer can receive treatment at either of the three cancer centers. The convenience of not having to travel a long distance is a great benefit to patients along with receiving the same treatment that is delivered at other nationally recognized cancer facilities.
The JCMH campus of the Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma has been in operation since September 2008. The website contains details about the medical staff and each facility in Duncan, Lawton and Altus at www.cancercentersswok.com.
